Strangely, it felt cold as I was walking out into the water today, preparing to launch. That tells you how hot it is down here... water 80+, air 80+ and it feels cold!
It's been raining a ton down here lately. Corpus Christi itself hasn't had a bunch of rain, but just north of town has been flooding like nuts. The area lakes, which for three years have been down about 200 feet from the docks that are supposed to have boats tied to them are now once again dock level.
Today was another slightly rainy day. But, we had a club meeting on the island and I was going to be out there anyway, so I hitched up the trailer and headed to Bird. When I got there it looked light, but Even and Don J. were sailing -- Evan on his 5.5. So I rigged my 6.6 and Mike M. rigged his 5.4 and we tore around for about 75 minutes before it died. I had a good day with some decent jibes, some comfortable, but small, jumps, and generally just ripped around. After it died I bs-ed for a bit and head to the meeting. It wasn't all I wanted, but it was more than I thought it would be. More might be on the way tomorrow.
