Not a horrible day, but the wind didn't really cooperate that much. There was wind, but just barely not enough to be happy on my 6.6 and Carve 111. Mike tried his 4.8 and John his 5.0. Crab came later and put up his 5.7. We all struggled to stay planing.
I thought there might be some jellyfish, so I wore these zip-off pant leg pants made out of a swimsuit type material. After a few runs I hadn't seen any, so I took them off. I did see a dolphin, though, and that was quite a surprise. I actually only saw the back and dorsal fin, but other's had seen dolphins lately and that's what I expect it was. There are sharks, but they aren't commonplace on the bay.
I sailed the 6.6 camless again and it worked fine. When I first went out I had rigged it too flat and slogged a lot. So I came in and let out some outhaul and it was much better. I probably could have done the same with the downhaul, but didn't. I really like sailing on the bay, the chop is a lot of fun. Flatwater speed headaches are nice, but slashing and turning and (a little) jumping is funner, to me. I guess a variety is good.
