After another painstaking convincing of Laura to go to the lake instead of the alternative plan (to go drink a few beers and go out to eat), we arrive at the lake with a 13 mph breeze, and we rig a 4.4 for her to try backwinding and helis, and a 5.8 for me. As soon as I enter the water, an outflow from a nearby storm occurs, and it's nuking 23 gusting to 29. I'm more than adequately overpowered! Tried some lame vulcans and shove-its. Wind lasted maybe 45 minutes, when it was back to non-planing conditions. Tried many push tacks. Tried my highest speed sb360s yet, and they're getting better. The push tack practice has helped... also, seeing a video of a guy doing it without ever placing his feet on the front of the board offered a new perspective on how to approach it:

First time riding this board in real wind, it's got some mad pop. Thought about trying my first forward, but didn't have my helmet on...excuses, excuses. Laura got some serious speed going while backwinded. Great after work session.
