Good to get back on the water. I arrived about 11:15a and it was blowing SW about 20. I went out and had a few rides, but it backed off. Most of the locals arrived after it had died, but we all stuck around hoping for better, and it came out the best.

It built slowly, starting about 3pm. By 4:00 it was doing a solid 25, gusting to 30. I was very overpowered, but loving it. Sometimes I was really out of control. I just did a major repair on the Carve. It was so bad I had to go in from the top and bottom, and I might have altered the bottom shape a little. It's hard to say, but I could have been on my 5.4 and F2 Wave were it not getting to the time I had to be home. It was strange; I got on the water and it came up (I went out about 3:30, when it was just hitting the mid-teens, because I thought that might be all I got); I got off the water and it died.

Decent day, some good jibes, some wobbly ones. One good duck jibe. Too overpowered to want to do more with the long boom. Board seemed to hold up well - it took a SERIOUS pounding... really fast over that small, washboard, voodoo chop. Oomfph. I'm worried about my boom. It seems like it's more wobbly than normal. It's hard to say, though.

Good to see old friends, too. Trucker Bob left just as it was picking up. I felt bad for him afterwards, because he would have loved the wind we finally got.
