Great day. Windy and Sunny. Cool air/water temps made mitts necessary for me at least. First half was Skate 107TE, second half was RRD WaveTwin 99. The Skate was great. I did not feel up for freestyle except one jumpjibe. I worked on jibing with control though the ramp bouys. I had one flat landing on one of the few starboard jumps I could find, and I launched off one of the port ramps only to land on a piece of wood debris. Both times I thought the board might be seriously wounded, but thankfully no. It is a lot tougher than I thought. The WaveTwin was great! It planes up super easy, and goes upwind well. It loves to turn and was skatey. It likes to mow down Brian. I can't wait to try it in the waves again. I wish there were more starboard ramps today, but it was good to get more comfortable on port tack chop. I like that the lake levels are back to normal. New 5.3 turned out to be the right call. I was questioning it at first as I went in early to get my mitts, but I realized quickly later it was right. I am super tired, but wish I could do it again tomorrow. | ||
