Playing with the equipment this morning instead of windsurfing. At the beach I measured 24/25 knots, so decided to take the 100 litre board + a 5.2, but on the water is was blowing a lot more. Tuned the 5.2 and took the 80 litre, but that still was insane. Back again to take the 4.7, the smallest I have, but still severely overpowered at times, i.e. trying to waterstart and being catapulted into the air. Also the plastic bit on my boom where I can tie the leech to it got loose a couple of time. I had repaired that actually, but the nail didn't even survive bringing my rig into the water I think. Very annoying to put on the plastic thing, and retension the sail while you're drowned by the waves. Anyway, back at home it appeared there was a gale warning, wind 35 knots gusting 45. No wonder this was no success. I would have needed a 3.7 I think. They also warned the sea would be very rough, which was the case, not nice windsurfing when I got on the board. Anyway, enough calories burned, back to earning money. | ||
