The wind was much stronger than the forecast predicted when we got there @3pm. I was thinking the 5.9 was going to be too big, but by the time I got out on the water, it was the correct call. That said, it was way up and down. In the gusts, I was way overpowered. In the lulls, I sunk the board and could not waterstart. I had trouble just getting comfortable. The waves were stacked for port tack. It was painfully obvious I suck on port. I went for one good jump and crash landed. Before I knew it, the fun was over and the wind started to back down. Luckily, I was close to shore. Tomorrow is looking pretty good. I will be stoked if we can get three straight days of shortboard wind locally.
