I wasn't going to sail today, but the forecast is for cold weather for about 4 or 5 days so I decided I had better get out there while it was still warm. It wasn't terribly windy but I joined about a half-dozen sailors on the water with my Allstar 70 and 7.8/44 (cm fin). I was planing about half the time, not too bad. I got to wear my shortie, though I was a bit chilly when I got dunked, which wasn't too often.

Sailing the big Seatrend is a lot different than smaller boards, but I like it. It's really fast when powered up, and points around pretty well. I fiddled with the mast base a bit... moved it back and I seemed to plane quicker after I did. I also worked on my pumping, to mixed results.

I also readjusted my harness lines and boom height after re-reading some archived rec.windsurfing advice, and that seemed to help. I was pretty comfortable, anyway. Toward the end of the day I started to feel what it's like to really press on the rails of the board with my heels... big power surge. Must remember that.

Sailed with Trucker Bob and a few sailors I didn't know and didn't have a chance to meet. Don and John from Worldwinds were there, but didn't sail and Roy Tansill showed up to BS at the end of the session. Roy's going to be working less and sailing more now that spring is arriving (not this week, though, with the forecasted cold temps).

Water temp hit the 70's today and though it'll be down to the 50's in a couple of days, it's nice to see the water temp starting with a 7 or better again!
