MADE ONE ROUND TRIP TO ISLAND #3 AND UP IWC ALMOST TO THE SOUTH CABINS. IT WAS PRETTY NICE OUT THERE WITH LOTS OF CHOP BETWEEN ISLANDS #2 & #3. MADE SEVERAL SMALL PORT JUMPS, A FEW OUTSIDE FAST TACKS AND THREE INSIDE DUCK JIBES. ALSO MUFFED A COUPLE OF JIBES IN EACH DIRECTION.
IT WAS EAST TO STAY POWERED AND CLOSE TO THE SANDBAR GOING SOUTH AND NOT TOO SHABBY ON THE RETURN. DID HAVE A PRETTY SPECTACULAR CRASH WITH NO INJURY OR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE. BEATING IT UPWIND AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, BOARD STARTED TAILWALKING THEN SUDDENLY LEVITATED AND IT WAS ALL OVER. LANDED STILL IN HARNESS BELOW THE SAIL AND WITH BOARD UPSIDE DOWN AND FRONT FOOT STILL IN THE FOOTSTRAP. FORTUNATELY HEAD ABOVE WATER BUT TOOK A FEW SECONDS TO GET OUT OF HARNESS AND MUCH LONGER TO FINALLY GET OUT OF THE FOOTSTRAP. NEED TO ADJUST FRONT STRAPS SMALLER.
SOME MORE LONG TERM VISITORS ARRIVED AS THE CROWD THICKENS, BUT IT HAS BEEN A NICE CHANGE AND GOOD TO SEE 24+ SAILING THE GREAT EARLY SPRING CONDITIONS.
