Forecast was for wind in the morning, dying in the afternoon. I got up at 8am to check the sensors... nothing. I went back to bed thinking it had already died. I got up again about 10am and it was blowing 20, with a new forecast calling for wind into the late afternoon! PANIC!

I got to Bird just as the wind totally dies, just as the forecast said. I rigged my 7.8 and Seatrend and headed out anyway, just to get on the water. I tooled around in light air, then spent some time trying some light air freestyle, mostly heli-tacks, sailing backwinded and sailing switched feet. This is the basis of a lot of freestyle and I figure now is as good a time as any to start getting back into it.

I doodled and doddled but nothing really happened with the wind. I came in after about 90 minutes. Hung out and played Hacky Sack and chatted. Tomorrow we're going to barbecue and hang out, see if the SE to 15 mph shows up. Monday has potential, too.
