Yesterday I had a blast but today it was ... not as much fun. I hate days like today. I was powered to overpowered on a 5.4 at Bird and on my Carve 111. But for some reason I didn't have my aggressiveness. I just kind of went out there and pussy-footed around, not really willing to take any careening edge of the seat rides. In the lulls I would zip around but in the gusts it was just HIHO. Now it's nearly 10pm and I regret it, like spending too much time working or something. Arrghhh!

Why one day fun and not the next? Yes, it was colder today, but there must be some sort of psychology to it. Maybe I just need a psyche-up ritual like the NFL players have.

My first run out I went with nothing on the feet, but they went a little numb in the toes so I put on an old pair of booties. Hated it. Put on my old small neo booties... better, but not comfortable. Sailing barefoot is *so* much easier, IMO, but the object for me is to feel my way around the board and if the feet are numb then...

One more thing: I think there is a subculture to windsurfing: those guys on the beach that won't go out until they are rigged perfectly. Picked up for ten minutues... they rig smaller. Drops... pull out the big race sail. Good thing most have enough masts, bases and booms or else they'd never get wet. I'm the opposite to a fault. I hate getting off the water to re-rig (some call me lazy, but I try to spin it off as "a water nut who just wants to be out there sailing" with little success).
