I thought a bit of sea-water will clear my nasal congestion and cough, but we arrived at Strand to find the entire beach and breakzone filled with smoke from a wildfire up on Sir Lowry's Pass.

Ulrich and I had some good runs and were joined later by two other windsurfers. It was difficult to bob out through the break, but outside the reef I was fully powered up. Spent most of my time sailing out there in the dark blue water of False Bay proper. Once you start losing Gordon's Bay from your field of vision it feels like time to turn around.

Was overpowered on some of the runs back and gained a lot of ground upwind, because of heading up -- till I got too close to some small fishing-boats.
