James called and claimed that there was a fresh breeze in Muizenberg. So off we went to Surfer's Corner to sail in the sea. We rigged up and I tried to get out between a myriad of bathers and surfers, but the wind was just too iffy to get me all the way beyond the break. Then the shark-spotter saw a shark and amidst sirens the shark-flag was hoisted and everyone chased out of the water with a jetski. So much for Surfer's Corner.

We saved the day, by derigging and driving a short distance to Zandvlei to sail there. The wind was slightly better (maybe a mountain effect?) and we managed some planing runs with lots of non-planing manoeuvres.
