This day was an awesome day! I can't give it a 10 because while I was riding, I kept wishing I had a surf-style kiteboard instead of my freestyle twin tip. I was riding my freestyle board to catch waves, and it was a lot of fun...but I know it would have been more fun had I been able to carve faster and harder. I learned how to carve up the face of the wave heelside and then ride down the face toeside (previously I would ride up toeside and down heelside, which is much easier to me because you face your kite as you ride down the wave). The advantage of toeside down is that I can ride downwind easily to catch another section of wave before it breaks. I learned how to better make use of my kite....if you don't work the kite a bit or keep it under pressure while surfing, the kite will stall out. I feel like I have a lot of opportunity to improve as a kiteboarder here because I finally am in an area with enough wind to use a small and snappy kite! Every day I ride I feel like I improve a lot! | ||
