DWD went great...then I went to meet my friends at the beach and just as they were finishing their kiting lesson the wind started picking up. Jennifer thought she could kite, then about 2 minutes later it came up enough that I thought I could windsurf. Right on both counts. Despite the straight onshore wind and lack of jetty it was acutally fun and forgiving. I had to pinch for one long tack each way to clear the shorebreak, then after that it was all playtime. Small surf and multidirectional jumping made for North Beach-like conditions, but with more pitch and definition. I never got wound up enough for serious jumping, but got in some lower key tricks and just some welcome time on the water after too much time off. We sailed/kited til the sun had fully set. Beautiful evening.
