HOT day, but only a little wind. Lots of slogging, but since it's been over a week since I was on the water, I got out at Oleander with my Carve and Ezzy 6.6. It wasn't enough. Even when I was planing, I was going as slow as I'd ever gone and still planed. Strangely, it feels as though I can plane in much less wind when sailing at Oleander. I don't know if it's the chop or if it's just perception or what. I don't know that I'd have planed with the same gear at Bird. It might be the pointer fin, though. I use a similar sized weed fin on the Laguna, but this probably has better lift.

Another benefit of the bay today was no sea nettles, just cabbage heads. No stings, a first for awhile.

There were a few kiters and windsurfers out, but no one I knew. Average day, good only in that I was out of the house and on the water. The next couple of days might bring some big sail stuff. Cross your fingers for me (us)!
