What a great day! Forecast was windy and rainy. I got to the Hole super early after a lazy breakfast and rigged up my 5.8 North Natural. It matched very well with the Syncro 114. It was overcast but warm. The chop was much better and ramps were to be had. My brother showed up with his kite, and it was fun to sail together in the nice breeze. I saw a little lightning on the horizon, but it missed. The rain was brief but hurt while lit up on a plane. At noon, I had to pack it up and check on the family. After a quick lunch and goodbye to my brother and his family, I went back for more. I only had a few hours before I had to check in the rental gear, so I blew by the shop to go straight to the beach. It was now sunny and beautiful. It was cranking even harder. I should have been on a 5.0 or smaller, but I rigged the 5.8 and gutted it out. Insanely powered even with full downhaul and outhaul. I could only make a few runs at a time without resting. Most people were on 3 somethings, and many were taking it on the chin. I had a good time, but I was wiped out when I finished. | ||
