Another great North Beach day. I arrived just as a kitesurfer, Chris, arrived. He went out on his 13.0 kite and I felt like my 6.6 wouldn't be enough without the bigger board (Aero 127) and I was right. It wasn't enough with it! I slogged back and forth for 30-45 minutes then finally it picked up and I was tired after about 10 minutes of trying to keep the 127 on the water. I took a break and brought out the Carve99, which was sweet. I had the most fun again. I love the place, the vibe, the view. Chris and I had a good talk afterwards and he almost has me buying kite gear. He showed me all the safety improvements they've made over the last couple of years and it looks a lot better. Plus, he fit it all in a car -- no need for a van or bus for all the gear. I can't remember having vehicle choices with such limited room! With gas prices heading up to what Europe has been paying for years, it might be time to go small.

Years off, though, and it will probably only get safer.

In the meantime, I'll be at NB as often as possible. It's all freeway there for me, and the launch area is so easy and nice. With enough wind, getting upwind wasn't hard at all.
