I wanted to squeeze in a session with the Wouter-guy after work, but the forecast was a little “iffy” - so I quickly packed the bigger board and my two biggest sails and opted for Zandvlei. Once there it was clear that the gusts were very strong. Downhauled the 5.8 as much as I could and gave it extra outhaul to make it flat. Wouter went out on his 5. I had a couple of scorching runs, but had to dump the power often. In addition the place was overgrown with weed and only a narrow channel was weed-free, the moment I strayed from there the 36cm fin was entangled. In the end I spent equal amounts of time in the water and on the board.

Afterward had a quick chat to Maria who was the only other windsurfer out. And then when packing up, I realised that I left my lights on for the duration of the session and I could not start the car :-(
Luckily Wouter could give me a jump-start.
