Could not have asked for a more gorgeous beach day, especially having it fall on a Saturday! Sailed a bit overpowered for the first hour or so. I actually enjoyed the height I was getting on jumps without even trying. Second session on the 4.2 was perfect. The waves had gotten bigger making the heart beat a bit faster. I focused on wave riding, making multiple "bottom turns". I still need to get more aggressive, but I often found I actually was at least close to a wave when I attempted them. One time on a small inside wave I turned back up on to it and it broke and pushed me back down. It was an incredible feeling! I did fall in the larger wave impact zone and got barrelled around, was under my gear, but kept my calm and got out of the situation. I did have to let go of the gear to get out from under it and the next wave took it away, but I caught up to it quickly. Then I just held on to the tip until I got my breath back. | ||
