I got a weird sunburn from this one. I forgot I cut the arms off of my shortie several years ago and I put a little sunscreen on, but not all the way up to my shoulders. Additionally, I didn't cut the arms off symmetrically, so it's really weird!
But it was a fine day. It's getting a little dull ripping around at Grassy Point, but it's a great place to work from until the wind picks up. I like the location and launch. It would be good to have a few more windsurfers to buddy with; Bob T and Richard B both showed late and dragged with me, but I was getting ready to leave by then, so we only got about 45 minutes together.
It was somewhat windy early, but had more East than usual, so I took my 6.6 on my 127 and it was pretty good. Then it started picking up and shifting SE, so I switched down to the 99 and it was really fun. Then it picked up some more, and I could have used a little smaller sail, but all-in-all it was good. I was overpowered. Probably should have just tugged on the outhaul a touch for control. Richard was a bit faster than me, which is not unusual on lighter days, but I could have matched up with him better with a little more control in the sail.
I'd sure like to get out in the Bay again, playing in that wonderful chop. It's just a bit harder to work from there, and there aren't as many windsurfers there earlier in the day when I can sail.
