Usually any deviation from classic cole park conditions corresponds to some degradation in quality. Things were looking a little gray, shifty and more east than usual, which didn't bode well. The energy level in the parking lot was similarly anemic. I seriously considered going to the open water swim instead, but I rigged up. I'm so glad I did--it was awesome. About the biggest and smoothest I've seen it here. Great for shove its (but I'm still sticking the sail). Tried that ponch thing but was not understanding the rotation. Not good setup for FL/BL. Ended the day with a hard fall, one of those where you float around for a bit and gradually feel around to make sure gear and body are intact. Things seemed okay at the time, but I found it too painful to run this morning. I think it's just swelling where my knee hit the board, and it should heal quickly. It will not keep me from sailing today but I may lay off the jump jibes.

Threat level in the parking lot: orange (not a joke)
