12th session in 2008
Sailed at Big Bay - Cape Town, ZA
Wind from the SE (knots)
        average: 19
Rated a 8 of 10

Board: Naish Supercross 250 - 85 litre (2004)
Sail: 5.3 Hotsails Maui Superfreak (2007)
Fin: Naish Supercross 23cm
Suit: Reef Fullsuit

Took another chance at Big Bay with Wouter-guy. The wind was slow to come through and after going out beyond the break and back I dragged my kit onto the beach along with seven other sailors. The Wouter-guy got stuck at on the other side of the breakers with too little wind to waterstart and had to swim all the way back. All the other sailors packed up to go to Sunset Beach in search of stronger wind, but Wouter and I stayed behind with one German guy.

About half and hour later the wind did pick up enough to sail it and we went out. The waves were smaller than last time and we had very few problems getting out over the white water even though the wind was a bit lighter.

The bend in the Chinook boom worsened so much during this session that I decided to retire it. It does mean buying a rubber collar for the RDM mast that will fit inside the oversized clamp of the Neil Pryde boom though :-(
