Wouter and I braved the waves at Big Bay, because the rest of the peninsula was blown-out.

We tried to keep to the left side, because the break is smaller there. Unfortunately that is also the upwind side, so as we tired it became more difficult to stay there. Towards the end we both struggled a bit to get through the impact zone. Although we timed it well between sets, we should have pointed further downwind initially to get planing and then turn upwind to hit the waves straight on. Will remember that for next time.

Surfing the waves back was surprisingly easy and fun! I found out that my smaller board is happiest on the rails. Definitely will be back!
