Went to the beach first. Spring Break was not an issue. Drove straight down Zahn Rd. Plenty of parking within 1/4 mile of the Jetty. A Radio Station was set up at Newport Pass so the crowd was closer to that. Waves were big. Lots of whitewater and dumping. Not enough wind so headed for the bay.
I am not really sure what the wind speed was but it was $%#@%%^# WINDY! The gusts were huge! First session was Super Gusty with some nice swells. Then it got big holes and started to back off but came back up after about 20 min. Second session was less gusty Super Strong and choppier. Jumping was crazy it would just blow your board downwind. The bay was the call. Some others showed up who tried to sail at Packery and confirmed it was NOT windy.
