Today was a lot of work but still well worth it. I rigged once at bird and twice at npac. I found the the abk "vulcan footstraps" surely don't work in the waves. I took one backside jump on the first run and watched my gear blow away from me...and sail down the wave by itself. I had a looooong swim, after which I took it in to shore to tighten those straps. I actually even enjoyed that too--I love open water swimming and would probaby not take initiative to do it otherwise. Brett did well in his first day in the waves.
OH--and my mast base is found! In the frenzy of throwing gear into vehicles with the tornado in sight, Laura's parents put it in their car. I even seem to remember that now but had forgotten. Thanks to Malcom for letting me borrow on in the meantime.
