Met Wouter at Zeekoevlei after leaving work early. We met Stephen (not Rhodes) at UCT YC - nice guy.
Wouter was out on a 4.4 and an old F2 axxis on loan while his JP's nose is being repaired (too many catapults!). He said that he was a little under-powered.
I rigged the 5.3 Blade precisely to the recommendations on the sail. I left the harness lines in the position that I had them for the 5.7 Blade.
Also put Ulrich's 25cm fin in my board and had good runs without any spin-out. Then switched back to my 23cm fin and also managed locked-in runs without spin-out. I concentrated on looking upwind, pulling down on the boom and on twisting my hips forward = no spin out and no bouncing out of harness lines :-)
Still I could not manage to go upwind as much as Stephen did. He recommended that I sheet in more when pointing upwind.
The wind dropped as it shifted and Wouter used this time to rig his 5.0 Zone, but when he got back on the water the wind came through stronger than before. Both of us were over-powered leading to a few catapults. It was time to get out of the water.
