Full planing runs to about half way to SI#2. Making all my transitions with ease - funny how such a big sail can be so controllable - trait of the Retros.
The day started with a wonderful beach outing with T-Bob and the dogs. Nova & Pepper had a great time running into the water after the tennis balls. We played about an hour and a half. The wind didn't look good but we decided to go to Bird and see if anything would happen. Dan strolled over while I was rigging the 8.0 and recommended saving our energy for tomorrow. I told him that when I take a day off work I'm at least going to try to windsurf. So I went out not expecting much but it was quite nice - I was fully powered and blasting around. Only 4 on the water - me, T-Bob, and two beginners. Beautiful, warm, sunny, and windsurfing at Bird Island on the first day of Winter. That rates a 10.
Interesting stat: Since I started logging, 17% of my sessions are either a 7.5 or 8.0 Retro. The 8.0 replaced the 7.5 but both sails have really saved some marginal days. Like today.
