It was a 10.
Started out with the Cross 117, and the 5.7m2 Blade extra downhauled. It was fine until the wind started to lighten, so I let the downhaul way off. Then, the wind really started to fill in. I soon became overpowered, but I was excited, because I was going to get my new board wet.
I wasn't sure what to expect, but after a few runs, I was really really happy. It felt great, and also made the increasing wind much more manageable. I was still overpowered in the gusts, but the board felt super light under foot. I could have rigged down to my 5.3m2, but I was having too much fun and was too lazy.
I did not want the day to end, but I was starting to get tired. Brian offered to video me after he called it a day. Unfortunately, my arms were tired and my balance was fading on that last session. I was starting to crash and burn a lot. I decided to end the session when holes in the wind started to develop.
It was a great day. Brian hung around and offered me a beer and some of his food. It is nice having such a cool friend that is also a beer connoisseur. A Full Sail Wassail in a frozen mug. That beer tasted sooo good. It was great to just take a minute and sit looking out on the water and relax before derigging.
