BIG WIND. Never thought I'd see the day T-Bob would rig a 4.8 but that's what he was sailing. Don Jackson even went out on a 3.7 because the wind never let up. The peak gust on the Worldwinds wind meter was 47 mph. There were a handful of us who ventured out. The first 20 miles I was overpowered on the 3.7 and caught a bunch of weeds. So I went in and got one of T-Bob's tiny weed fins and a 3.0 trainer sail from Worldwinds and went back out for another hour. Only windsurfed 30 miles but felt more like 80. I rate the day a 10 for the most wind I've ever successfully windsurfed in. I'm not claiming it was the most fun day because it was really wild and never could relax. First time in a long time I've had the boom ripped right out of my hands. I've also never seen such huge rollers and breakers in the Laguna Madre. There were some impressive waves. I don't know my max speed because the GPS showed a giant spike in the 100's. I wasn't even trying to go fast - too scary. Before the spikes, I saw a 26.5 mph reading so I'll go with it. Time on the water: 3 hrs 15 minutes.
2007-miles-to-date = 2,134.9
