I went to BIB today because I heard a few friends were going. Just about every time I sail, I sail around friends, but today I sailed right with a couple and it was the most fun I've had in a long time. I was just underpowered, not much, and was in complete control and felt great. Just shorts and a harness and ripping long in some small chop and good wind, a little sunshine. Everyone was having a blast. Evan pulled off a loop right off of my starboard bow at one point, and had a lot of good jumps. Thomas' jibe is looking great.

Later, it picked up a bit and things got a little hairy. I went out but then came back to take down my Carve and put on my F2 Wave. It didn't help. I was still on the edge of control the whole time. I went back out into the deepening and erratic chop and was hammered. At one point I went for an ill-advised jump right after Evan wiped out and I buried the nose. Evan said he thought I'd be dead. Shows you what windsurfing really is: safe!

Right after that, on the next run, I did a huge over-the-handlebars wipeout and had to unwedge my head from between the boom and sail. So, after that I just stuck to the inner half of the launch where the chop was smaller and the wind a little lighter. A good day all around, but no really good jibes. I made a bunch, but nothing perfect.
