        gusts: 20

The wind meter gave 20 knots when I left, but when I arrived at Bucklands Beach there seemed to be none. More people arrived, also disappointed. But it was about high tide, so it isn't unusual for the wind to subside a little then.

Decided to rig anyway, and schlogged out. But the wind became quite a bit better, but somewhat inconsistent. Basically reasonable for an hour or so.

Made some jibes even in wild chop, so that's good. One or two almost planing jibes, at least didn't stop. But the wind wasn't really good enough to practice it a lot.

Raced one guy, he was on a 7.6 race sail and slalom board and I on a 6.2 free ride, but kept pace with him. Probably the gust was just too much for him at that time, when there was less wind he easily raced away from me.

Had to leave for a dinner, but wind was subsiding anyway.
