When I first got to Dougs this morning it was already blowing 4.5. I thought it was going to be a big day because usually Dougs doesn't blow till afternoon--I just wanted to get a parking spot. I considered rigging the 4.0 because I thought it might pick up, but then rigged the 4.5 for what was happening right then.

When I was finally done, the wind had slacked off of course. I schlogged back in and rigged a 5.5. That worked great for an hour or so before it picked up.
I went back to the 4.5 and it worked OK, but there were some murderous gusts.

I wanted to rig the 4.0 from the start, so came back in to get it, even though I probably should have sucked it up and held down the 4.5.

The 4.0 worked OK in the gusts for the rest of the afternoon, but it was typical lake gust style sailing, except on a sinker. I did get a few good runs in and some jibes, which was all I was really after I guess.

Nice to see Tamay at the beach. She had to leave early but really didn't miss much, it was a strange day. There were FIVE barges while I was at Dougs. I sat on the sidelines for each one because most of the time I was seriously schlogging. Didn't want to get nailed in the channel.

Realized that I shouldn't rig the 4.0 in case people are getting blown off the water. That wasn't really the case today... too optimistic.
