So it is supposed to blow out east according to
iWindsurf, but it is breezy already at the Hatchery
so I decided to be the contrarian and get a
good parking spot.
Not many folks there and as it turned out I got
the best wind of the day I think. BUT, it wasn't
all that good of day. REALLY weird wind with
gusts and lull periods.
I started out on the wave board with the 6.5
(even got some chiding over the 6.5, what gives..)
Well, wound up on the big yellow board and
probably would have been good on the 8.3 by the
end. Some big time gusts had me worried I would
get hammered at some point on the big setup,
but it never happened, and all those bad boy
gusts were pretty puffy. Looked a lot windier
than it really was.
Glad to have the big board. Schlogging the sinker
would have ended my day quick for sure.
This morning Dakine took my harness it for
warantee repair and even offered a new set of
lines under warrantee (my april ones from
Corpus--already sawed through), so I'm pro-Dakine
again. :-)
