Went to Stevenson since they have free citywide WIFI.
Hood River/Embarq had a pilot project last year that
worked pretty well, but when they figured they
couldn't make any money off it they ripped it out.
Just goes to show you the general mindsets between
these two towns :-).
Anyway, the wind was actually best at Stevenson
during the day over the whole central gorge, so
it was a good place to be. Downside was that it
was light.
I rigged the 6.5 to start, mainly because of peer
pressure (looks like a 5.0 day etc....). But also
it did seem like it might come up and fill in.
Got a few good runs in over two sessions, and then
it really lightened up, but was still Stevenson
smooth. So I rigged up the 8.3 (which I should
have done to start) and was the only one out on
the water having a great time.
If would have been lit on the 8.3 earlier and this
day would have ranked higher. As is, a 6 windsurfing
but a pretty day on the green grass at Bob's Beach.
