Wind Journal for Bill
Friday June 29, 2007

18th session in 2007
Sailed at Rowena, OR
Wind from the W (mph)
        lulls: 18
        average: 28
        gusts: 40
Rated a 7 of 10

Board: F2 Wave 259
Sail: 4.5 Gaastra Charger
Fin: Wave fin
Suit: 3/2 Full
Water Temperature: 64 F
Air Temperature: 77 F

Yes the wind was strong but it was also all over the
place. Big lulls and big gusts but enough to keep
me in the straps most of the time on a 4.5, which
means it was relatively good, even with the
griping.

The main thing was that I went out on my F2 wave
after major reconstructive surgery, and it held
tight! I didn't have time to paint or do
anything to the pads around the new insert, so
just put down some masking tape to protect the
epoxy from the UV, and gummed up a big ball of
it to put under the rear strap.

So looks like the board will last quite a bit
longer. And the best part is now I have a
threaded insert instead of an el cheapo
plastic one for that rear strap. No more backing
out.

Gonna go to NSI on monday to buy some pad
material to cover up the wound.
