I'm giving this one a nine on the fun scale because it is the first time I've windsurfed in 5 months, almost to the day. My eardrum problem was a bugger, but I'm back.

The wind was gusty and fluky, but I managed to get wet, which was the main goal. I actually had a pretty good day. I didn't really feel rusty at all, but I was frustrated a bit by the up and down wind.

I bought an adjustable outhaul setup while I was off-the-water. It was nice to have. I think it really helped. You know that "perfectly powered-up" feeling? Well, I had that a lot more often than I would have otherwise. I think it helps in the gusts with control. The Ezzy Infinities seem to tune well with outhaul. I did have to make some adjustments to the system after about an hour of trying it, but now it's better than ever. I made a few pretty good jibes, and a bunch more half-way good jibes, and wrecked a few times. Really, I felt like any other time sailing. I didn't feel like I hadn't sailed in 5 months.

All in all, a good first day back, and from what I've heard, I picked a good five months to miss, as Corpus has been low on wind for awhile. In that time, I've done a lot of CCWA work (I'm the Commodore), I've stared back up with Tae Kwon Do and test for my blue belt in 10 days. I spent time making sure my gear is in good working order. I have done a lot with my business and family, and have been working on Windsurfing Radio a lot. So, I've stayed busy, but it's good to be windsurfing again!

There is wind forecast for the remainder of the week, I'm hoping it will go!
