I rediscovered the simple joys of planing (it feels like months since I planed in the laguna)! I felt like I had superpowers gliding around like that.

I demoed the JP 85L FSW and it wasn't love at first sight (a little big) but it REALLY drove home how much easier freestyle can be on a different board than mine. Plus it was really smooth. I am working harder on my board just to balance, float, and plane. But on the other hand when it's windy I do like the smaller size.

I switched back to my own board, the wind came up, and I got my first real standing up JJ. Most other times I was still missing my attempts.
