I haven't been sailing in a while - it was fun day because T-Bob is in town - he started on a 7.8 but rigged UP to a 9.0. I started out with the 6.6 and the 110 ltr Sonic but it took an hour to go 8.5 miles, so the fun factor went way up when I switched to the 130 ltr. ProTech. The gusts were a blast. I really had a lot of good runs and the fast tacks are getting better.
The PINS Rangers get a 10+++ for their rapid response to the lone kiter that needed to be expelled. He started out on the north end of the launch area and stayed in the boat channel and near his launch spot for while, but soon he started the hot-dogging in the shallows and cutting thru the beginner windsurfing area. I am so grateful we have blissful, kite-free destination to enjoy relaxing recreational water activities. The closure of kites at Bird Island was a prudent decision for us to have a fun, safe sailing destination.
Micki, Kent and Dena arrived late - they now have a Corpus Christi "home" as they bought a travel trailer and located it at a park off Waldron Road. Looking forward to lots of windsurfing weekends with them.
2007-miles-to-date: 676.1
