BIG BIG WIND!! So glad I tossed the tiny Clam Sandwich in the van. The entire combination of gear worked together flawlessly. The rollers were huge - I've never seen it like that between the launch and Island #1 - it was just as challenging as Corpus Christi Bay - I decided to stay out of the ICW today. This day marks a personal best - sailing that long in that much wind. It was still blowing hard when I came off the water around 4:45pm, but 42 miles was all I had in me. Alex went out on my gear - to see it it worked for him - but had a rough time and ended up way downwind. He rigged his 4.5 and was overpowered but at least he sailed quite a bit.
The Worldwinds wind meter was showing 35 mph at 6:30pm with a peak of 45 mph. Amazing day.
2007-miles-to-date: 588.3
