Right after arriving at Bird Island, something bit me on the forearm - it stung, turned red and started swelling so I freaked out. T-Bob took me to the First Aid Station at the Visitors Center - the guy said it looked like a spider bite or a bee sting. I took a couple of Benedryl and everything was fine. I was more worried about losing a sailing day than anything!
The first couple of runs, I didn't have the sail rigged right so T-Bob downhauled it some more. Turned out to be too much downhaul - the sail was very twitchy. So I let off the downhaul and finally found a sweet spot some where in the middle of starting position and the too much position. Wanted to get a lot of miles, so I made several runs to Island #3 - it was so much fun riding the rollers between Island #2 & 3. Hardly anyone was going out that far - I guess because it was too rough. I thought it was fun. The GPS showed 43.9 mph - best spike this year! Confirmed my max speed on GPSAR was 29 mph. Happy with that since I wasn't really going for speed and going for distance.
2007-miles-to-date: 277.3
