It could only have been Friday 13th. I was almost completely out of gear. The 8.5 got beyond repair two weeks ago. Lost the 6.2 mast on Monday. The only thing left was the NP Saber 7.2 and my big board, the Bic Nova. The wind was too strong all day, but as usual in Auckland wind starts to die in the evening, so I decided to head down to Bucklands Beach anyway.

Wind speed was between 10 to 21 knots, so perfect for the 7.2. Bucklands Beach is always very choppy, too much really for my Bic Nova board, you bounce off the board if you go to fast. But now the water was very flat.

I didn't break the mast. I didn't get a hole in the sail. It didn't tear. I didn't loose a fin. I didn't hurt any body part.

And the wind kept blowing, never really dying down. I had the perfect time with the 7.2. I didn't stop with my jibes, kept planing through a couple of them.
