We got up early and headed to Doug's. The wind was cranking early. Mike kindly loaned me his nice 4.3m2 and mast. Surprisingly, my boom was short enough to still be used on it. The wind was really impressive on the other side of the river. My board would start to get bouncy, and it was tough to keep it on the water. I had one catapult, that fortunately, did no damage to me or the board, but really stunned me. I had to take a second to get my bearings after that one. The weather started out cool and cloudy, but the sun came out later @ lunch time. Then the wind really started to kick in. The Council voted I should try to go out on Brian's 72 liter board and 3.3m2 sail. I gave it a go, but could not get the board to surface. I needed a lot more volume under my 245 pound frame. | ||
