A really good bay day. Used the 127 because it seemed light at first and it was just the right thing... I think I try to use my small board too often and end up slogging around and having trouble planing. The Aero didn't have any such problems, though the strap placement is still an issue. I felt good on my jibes and pretty comfortable all around. Because of the strap issue, I didn't push speed too much and played around with carving off of chop instead. Good. Also watched Thomas and Philip sail a bit, they arrived just after me. Learned a few things. I think I put too much weight on my back foot at all times, Philip says that balanced foot pressure is needed on wave-type boards and back foot is more for speed and race type boards. I did notice that I was able to go faster and point higher despite the straps if I put more front-foot pressure on. Like the board a lot. Best bay day this year, maybe for a couple of years. | ||
