Super hot day, lots of running around for VG event stuff. Got some sailing in at the end, to see how my gear felt at McGee... it's gonna be tough in this kind of wind.

The Aero was easy to point and I could keep dry jibing, and even take some speed out, because it's so wide, mistakes aren't a problem. But, I was still too scared to point deep downwind. The Carve pointed okay (this won't be a problem in the VG, as it will be all downwind, except for returning to the start line), and I could go anywhere, up, down, felt in good control... but, I can't jibe it very well. I wallied through a few, but outright crashed a couple of times. So, tomorrow will require some choices.

I also tried the wave fin that came with the Aero... but spun out a lot. The freeride fin it came with worked fine, though.

Not too bad of a day. Actually, when on the Carve, I was having a blast, but needed to leave to go meet Annie at the banquet. If I could just hit a few jibes, I'd be loving that board. I think it's just a bit too small for me. But that's great for the uber chop that we had. It wasn't that big, but it was voodoo, like Bird is in the middle, (like that, but waist to shoulder high, so it posed a problem).
