Broke my boom on the third run, Alissa and Lewis kept an eye on me, took pieces to shore and Lewis brought me one of his booms. Still, it took a bit of work to get it on and going again. As far as breakdowns go, it was pretty easy. I didn't drift much (I pushed the sail down hard while I was waiting) and was only about a 1/2 mile from shore. I came in just above Oleander and a little walk in from there.

Couple of lessons learned: don't stuff the downhaul up into the mast base before connect to uni. It's hard to get out and if I had needed to roll up the sail I wouldn't have been able to. Also, make it possible to take the uphaul off. I had it connected to the boom and wrapped it over the mast before connecting to the uni so I couldn't have ditched the boom if I wanted to (though I wouldn't have needed to here, you never know in more precarious situations).
