Good, short session. First 20 minutes underpowered, couldn't plane. After a bit it picked up a couple more knots and I was mostly fine, though it was up and down. Never felt totally comfortable, but felt good a couple of times, and fairly fast in the troughs. It was like dropping in on the Death Star canyon in Star Wars. Not that they were huge, but they were big enough, and clean and wider than usual. Lots of fun. Felt good, confident, said a few prayers and tried a few jumps. Mostly the usual, where I go too much windward and stall, but two good jumps where God just put the ramps there in the best spot and I hit them, floated a little, landed them with good speed and was pretty happy. Probably not very high, but good length and in control. After those two, on the same run, tried a third but crashed. Caught under sail. Hooked in. Again. Anyway, didn't panic, went to free hook first, came up with no problems. Waterstarted, still heading out and got caught in a strong gust. Since I was getting pretty far out, I decided to jibe, and I'd been doing okay with jibes, but I picked up some big speed in some big chop and just as I pulled my foot out of the rear strap I wiped out hard. Took a minute to arrange the gear and a couple people sailed close to make sure I was good to go. I was going to sail for another 20 minutes, but decided to hang it up. Ride in was spectacular and long, since I was a ways out. Lots of long rollers, way powered up and blasting over the chop, easily picking my way through and over the backsides of the chop. Oh what fun it is to ride a windsurfer!

Saw Thomas & Tamay as I was leaving. Most of the regulars were there. Randy is always full of stoke and fun to windsurf around. Talked to Paul & Alissa for a bit.

Used my Exo underneath my shortie until the sun came out and I was overheating. Exo is great for 72ish water. Keeps the torso warm from wind chill, but doesn't overdo the heat part.
