Great day at Baffin Bay, first time there. Launched from Richie & Terese's place. Sailed with Richie, Tamay, Joe and Meg. Just a great day, felt very dialed in. Used the waist harness, but didn't need a wetsuit at all and didn't feel cold.
Baffin is about midway between BIB and Oleander. It's flat on both edges (at the launch it was probably less than a mile wide) with easy, mostly organized chop in the middle. The amazing part about today was how consistent the wind was. It was rock solid for awhile, hardly a gust or a lull. It's amazing how tuneable those Ezzy Infinities are... I downhauled to the max, put on a shallow pocket with some good outhaul and it just felt light and easy. It was sweet. And it's the first time I used the 10" Wardog Weed Wave with that 6.6 and I think that might have been a help, too. It's hard to say what was so good, the wind, the combination of gear, the launch, the food afterwards... I'd give this day a ten for just the sailing, and the launch and Richie and Terese's hospitality was excellent, too. Richie's been wanting to have a club party out there, and if he does, I'll be there for sure.
