Tuesday March 07, 2006

4th session in 2006
Sailed at Oleander Point
Wind from the SE (mph)
        lulls: 18
        average: 24
        gusts: 30
Rated a 7 of 10

Board: Carve 99
Sail: 6.6 Infinity
Fin: 12" Wardog Weed Wave
Suit: Exo, Shortie
Water Temperature: 71 F
Air Temperature: 80 F

Felt way off, right arm tired to the point of no grip within 30 minutes, probably due to a white-knuckle grip as I struggled with the overpowered, underdownhauled sail and the once-familiar-but-it's-been-awhile speed and wild ride over the chop. It wasn't too bad of a day, but due to bad muscle memory and the tired arm, I couldn't jibe or really jump at all. I need to remember that I've sailed like a dozen times in 18 months. It's amazing I can remember to do anything. It was a pretty good day all said, and I'm glad to be back out there. Getting the first day back at Oleander off my back is nice. I was a little nervous going out.

I am going to try my waist harness tomorrow, as it's supposed to crank again.
