Fun day, first time planing in 7 months!!! And, I still knew how to do it, mostly. Actually, I'm proud because I wasn't any worse than when I was last windsurfing. I'm not a great windsurfer, but I had fun on this day.
First out with the 6.6, but it was too small, especially considering my additional weight (I'm 216, about 12 pounds higher than my normal fighting weight from the last couple of years). After I put up the 7.8, the wind also picked up and I had a terrific time on the Aero and the 7.8. The board was fun, pretty easy to ride except it's a little herky jerky getting up on a plane. Jibing is out-of-this world. I really like it a lot and even found straight-line-speed to be pretty decent. I felt fast, anyway.
I'm messing around with a waist harness again, and after about two hours of windsurfing, my back didn't hurt at all. I'll probably buy one soon. There was a lot of new stuff... 7.8 on a turny board, a new board, using a new harness, but I had a great time. Having fun while trying new stuff almost never happens.
